Supervision
Applied Behavioral Connections provides a measurement driven supervision experience for professionals seeking certification as Board Certified Behavior Analysts (BCBA) or Board Certified Assistant Behavior Analysts (BCaBA) under the Supervised Independent Fieldwork Experience requirement of the Behavior Analyst Certification Board (BACB®). Supervision is provided by Dr. Vanessa Fessenden, who has been providing BCBA and BCaBA supervision services for the past 10 years.
Supervision will be provided at least once every two weeks, at the designated supervision date and time, for at least the minimum 5% of the candidates total hours independent fieldwork during that time period as required by the BACB. Supervision will focus on helping the candidate learn new behavior analytic skills related to the BACB Fifth Edition Task List.
Supervision hours will focus on 1:1 candidate-client interactions. Supervision will be conducted on site, or via web-camera, videotape, video conferencing, or similar means in lieu of the supervisor being physically present unless the candidate is located in the immediate area. Supervision may be conducted in small groups for no more than half of the total supervised hours in each supervisory period. Small groups are interactive meetings in which 2-10 supervisees who share similar experiences participate in the supervision activities described above.
Below is a summary of requirements that are necessary for ensuring that your supervision hours are BACB approved, and therefore can actually be used towards earning certification.
Before earning supervision hours, supervisees must 1) be currently enrolled in a BACB approved coursework sequence, 2) register as a supervisee with the BACB, and 3) pass the BACB online module pertaining to the requirements of supervision.
